Smart Brain Mental Maths and Soroban Challenge 07
Our first national competition "Smart Brain Mental Maths and Soroban Challenge 07" was held successfully in
Holly Trees Primary School in Brentwood, Essex on 23rd June 2007.
The occasion was graced by the Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress of Brentwood.
In support of the event, the Headteacher of Holly Trees Primary School, Mr.Garland also attended the event. Parents of Smart Brain students came from
all parts of London and Home Counties to attend the event. There was such a buzz as students beavered away in the competition.
The winners walked home with prizes and majority of the students received their certificates from the Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress.
It was a memorable event for all of us as it was first in the United Kingdom.
The 2 overall winners will have the opportunity to travel to Thailand/Singapore for
the international competition on 7th December 2007.

Holly Trees
Primary School, Brentwood: 3rd & 4th February 2006
We conducted two days of workshops at
the school, including hands-on activities for children
and parents meetings. The days were a huge success and
we now have a Smart Brain after school club running
at the school. |
